We are currently midway through filming the opening of 'Twelve Hours'. To be honest, it hasn't gone as well as it could have done due to issues involving location and timing. We've also had a couple of technical difficulties but these can be easily resolved. We feel much more confident about the whole thing now that we have found a girl to act in our film.
we've filmed around half of the opening. the first shot we have is of me waking up next to the girl, we originally see a digital clock showing the time 11:59, the moment the time changes to 12:00 the alarm starts to go off, we then see my hand reaching over to turn the alarm off, the camera then follows my arm and focus's on me and the girl for a few seconds. the next three shots are all taken from the same position. The first one shows me walking from the bedroom door to the bathroom wearing pyjamas, the next one shows me walking out of the bathroom with a towel attempting to dry my hair still wearing the pyjamas walking back to the bedroom. The last of these shots shows me leaving the bedroom once again (This time wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt), I walk past the bathroom door and begin to walk down the stairs that are situated just to the right of the bathroom. The next shot we have is taken from a crane shot facing down on the stairs. We see me walking down them. After this we have a shot taken from the bottom of the staircase again showing me walking down them but in this case, only showing my feet. the next shot shows me walking from one side of a room to another (from the stairs to the kitchen). After this we see me walking into the kitchen. I turn on the light, open the fridge, take out the milk and get out a bowel and some cornflakes from the cupboard. The next shot is again a crane shot (this time facing a closed draw). I then open the draw, take out a spoon from within it and then close it. All of these shots are in order and have all been taken but we've also done some that are not. We've done a shot showing me leaving the front door of my house and also one of me walking into the distance.
Realistically I can See us finishing the filming by friday.

'Twelve Hours' Complete Plot
The film opens with the end. This is Joshua being beaten up by Seamus. Sharply we cut to black whilst also cutting back 12 hours. The viewer is immediately introduced to 2 of our main characters, also we learn more about WHY Joshua was beaten up. These 2 characters are Joshua the leading male and Ciara the leading female. The entire film is in a way about their relationship due to the ‘Montague’s & Capulet’s’ aspect of the relationship.
Once we are introduced to these 2 characters we establish how dysfunctional the relationship is, neither know where they stand. It almost seems like both of them are just in it to bide time. It soon becomes apparent this is partly true; we discover this once we are introduced to Joshua’s conflicting love interest Jane. She is far more similar to Joshua with similar upbringing and tastes. Despite this her and Ciara are still good friends through school, neither know of the others relationship with Joshua.
The relationships are beginning to cross paths and in an unpredictable series of events both Ciara & Jane turn up to Joshua’s little gathering (this is due to Joshua’s Mum leaving to visit her parents up north). The part gets underway and before we know it Jane and Joshua have found their way into his bedroom, the inevitable happens and Ciara walks in. She certainly wasn’t expecting this and is so distraught that she leaves quickly whilst in tears. Jane goes after her trying to explain all of the events however Ciara has already got home.
Once Ciara’s brother (Seamus) gets home to find his little sister in tears he turns vowing to get revenge for Joshua’s rash actions. Midnight is nearing and we are aware of what is soon to happen.
At Joshua’s party supplies are running low, this is what leads Joshua to leave his house and go to the shop. Seamus is waiting and as soon as Joshua leaves it’s back to the beginning.
Joshua is beaten up and we cut to the hospital where Ciara is waiting. She’s concerned and the two make up and end up getting together.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzfEH0UPEBo
On Friday 19th November 2010 Harry Potter 7 part 1 was released in cinema's. I was one of the hundreds of thousands of people that saw it that day. Before going to see the film I wasn't really sure what to think, I wasn't sure how they would end it and at what point they would end it. Personally I feel that this film is the most true to the book and it succeeded in entertaining thousands. In previous films I found that too many things had been excluded due to there not being enough time. This is the reason that I believe a 2 parter was a perfect idea. despite the fact that this film and indeed the parts of the book that this film is based on are just leading up to the next part, they still managed to keep an audience entertained for a good two and a half hours. This film is only the second film in my life that has brought a tear to my eye (the first being the disney adaptation of 'Tarzan') and I am grateful for this. Much much better than I was expecting, gripping and a great cliff hanger. Can't wait for part 2!

Criminal Justice series 3
Police arrive at the family home to inform Idi that Raza has been arrested at work - charged with the murder of a local man, Frank Cordingley (a colleague of Raza's, from the University - he is a security guard, and ex-soldier - having served in Iraq and Afghanistan). Cordingley is found dead in his flat, following the extraction of a large amount of money from his bank account. A neighbour has identified Raza as visiting the house earlier in the day. Questioning takes place.
Idi does not believe that his son is capable of such an act - but the situation is complicated by Raza's behaviour. He has retreated completely into himself, and is refusing to speak. The police inspector DCI Hammond (female) is convinced of Raza's guilt and wants a conviction to bolster the public's confidence in the system. She is aggressive in her approach and single-minded. Her sergeant, Sgt. Tomas Imanov does not believe that the evidence adds up (despite being the one to uncover Raza's gamblong debts). He is sympathetic to Raza's case, but frustrated by his vow of silence.
Fade in:
INT./EXT. QUIET STREET – EARLY EVENING
Two police officers step out from their car.
We see them walk to the front door of a house a couple of metres from where the car is parked.
As DCI HAMMOND (early 30’s) knocks twice on the front door she looks to SERGEANT TOMAS IMANOV (40’s) as if to say that what is about to happen will be tough for them.
IDI answers the door slowly and seems surprised when he sees two police officers standing in his doorway.
INT. POLICE CAR – EARLY EVENING
Sergeant Tomas Imanov is sat in the passenger’s seat whilst DCI Hammond is sat at the wheel.

DCI HAMMOND
I’m DCI Hammond, this is Sergeant Tomas Imanov, can we come in?
IDI
Certainly, may I ask what this is concerning?
DCI Hammond
We would like to talk to you about your son Raza
The scene cuts to the three sitting in Idi’s small living room.DCI Hammond
(To Idi)
Your son Raza has been arrested on suspension of the murder of one Mr Frank Cordingley.
Idi
Raza? A Murderer? Your joking? Please tell me that you’re joking.
DCI Hammond
(To Idi)
I’m afraid to say we are not joking sir. Mr Cordingley was found dead mere hours after Raza was seen exiting his home. In the time between your son leaving Mr Cordingley’s home and when he was found dead, there was a large sum of money withdrawn from Mr Cordingley’s bank account. Do you know for any reason, why Raza may have needed money?
Silence for twenty to thirty seconds.DCI Hammond
(To Idi)
Sir, I know this must be hard to hear but if you can help us in anyway, we would be very appreciative.
More silence, this time for around ten seconds.DCI Hammond
(To Idi)
Please sir, we could really do with your help.
Sergeant Tomas Imanov
(To DCI Hammond quietly so that Idi cannot hear)
This isn’t good for any of us, it is blatant that this man knows nothing. I think we should leave him.
DCI Hammond
(To Idi)
Very well, thank you sir, we will be in touch.
Sergeant Tomas Imanov
(To Idi)
We can show ourselves out.
FADE OUT
FADE IN:INT. POLICE CAR – EARLY EVENING
Sergeant Tomas Imanov is sat in the passenger’s seat whilst DCI Hammond is sat at the wheel.
DCI Hammond
(To Sergeant Tomas Imanov)
Well? What do you think Sir?
Sergeant Tomas Imanov
(To DCI Hammond)
About what?
DCI Hammond
(To Sergeant Tomas Imanov)
The murder of Frank Cordingley.
Sergeant Tomas Imanov
(To DCI Hammond)
Honestly? I don’t believe Raza killed him.
DCI Hammond
(To Sergeant Tomas Imanov)
You must be joking sir. All the evidence points against Raza
Sergeant Tomas Imanov
(To DCI Hammond)
That it may do, but for some reason I genuinely don’t think he did it, I mean what with the arrest and his father’s reaction. Both he and his father seemed shocked. Also from the interview there is nothing he said that gave anything away.
DCI Hammond
(To Sergeant Tomas Imanov)
That may be true sir but we also know that he’s a very well educated man. He’s a librarian for god’s sake! He’s well read and most certainly knows how to lie or let me rephrase that one... He knows how to hide the truth.
FADE OUT
FADE IN:
INT. QUESTIONING ROOM – DAY
Raza is sat behind a desk in the middle of the room.
Enter DCI Hammond and Sergeant Tomas Imanov.
Raza
I didn’t do it! Please, please just let me go. Let me see my father. I must see him!
DCI Hammond
(To Raza)
Calm down. Now I Am going to ask you a very simple question. Did you kill Frank Cordingley?
Raza begins to cry.
Raza
No, I swear I didn’t. Now please, please just let me go home.
Sergeant Tomas Imanov
(To Raza)
I’m afraid we are unable to let you leave. All of the evidence points against you at this moment in time and I’m afraid you are going to have to stay here.
Raza
Please, no, Please!
DCI Hammond and Sergeant Tomas Imanov leave the room. Raza is left on his own with his head in his hands.

Comparison of the opening of The Inbetweeners seris 1 episode 1 and Kidulthood
Kidulthood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shsBkmx5oQY
The Inbetweeners: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-inbetweeners/4od#2918647
There are certain aspects of the opening of 'The Inbetweeners' and the opening of 'Kidulthood' that are similar. Both openings, for example, take place in school playgrounds and the camera shots are both of school pupils. However they also have many differences. First of all the music used in 'Kidulthood' creates tension and suspense within a matter of seconds, where as the music in 'The Inbetweeners' doesn't create any tension or suspense. The camera shots are also different. In 'The Inbetweeners' the camera focus's on one character throughout (from several different angles in time to the music), where as in 'Kidulthood' the camera focus's on a number of different characters. The constant skipping from character to character in the opening of 'Kidulthood' also helps to convey a sense of tension. The picture seems blurred in 'kidulthood', where as the camera is focused in the inbetweeners. in 'Kidulthood' the setting seems much darker than that in 'The Inbetweeners', I feel that this gives an indication as to what is to come. In 'The Inbetweeners' there are flashbacks which are used to help the audience to understand more about the character that the opening scene is based around. In 'Kidulthood' they don't do this. Also in 'The Inbetweeners' there is a narrator (that happens to be the character that the scene is based around) that explains what is going on, this isn't done in 'Kidulthood' either. You get a much better knowledge of what's going on in the opening of 'The Inbetweeners' than what's going in 'Kidulthood' because of this.
